Cristia Rae Summons was born in Jasper County on June 26th, 1988. Her parents were everything you'd expect from two god-fearing Georgians. A southern belle with roots in Texas and beauty pageants, and a good old boy with a pick-up truck. Robert and Louise were high school sweethearts. They met in freshman year when Louise and her mother moved from Texas to Georgia, and almost immediately fell in love. They were married shortly after graduation, and pregnant with their first child within a month. That child was their only daughter, Cristia Rae. After her birth they had two more children, both sons.
Cristia was bred similarly to her mother. She was brought up with a bible on her nightstand and her mother's crowning joy on her dresser, a sash identifying her as Miss Georgia. She competed in numerous competitions, and even managed to win quite a few, but it was never her passion the way it'd been her mother's. She was a little too curious and rebellious to ever fit the mold that'd been made for her (not to mention too skinny). The final straw was the way her views and opinions differed severely from her parents.
On her sixteenth birthday she invited five of her closest girl friends over to spend the night. It should've just been a fun and memorable slumber party, but for Cristia it was a whole lot more than that. She was curled up on the couch with the last of her conscious friends when the other girl leaned over and kissed her. That probably should've been that, but instead one thing led to another. Her father walked in on them the next morning, assumed the worst, and tightened the leash on his sinful daughter considerably. Nonetheless, Cristia's life changed.
For most of her life the only escape from her religious upbringing were the infrequent vacations they took to visit their northern family members. Cousins and uncles up in Longport, New Jersey (including her cousin Seth) provided a relief from the strict rules of her parents. She could run around and have fun without concerning herself so severely with making everyone else happy. A lot of her friends from childhood were kids from Longport that she met during the summer and kept diligently in touch with. One of those kids was Katy.
Cristia stayed in Georgia until the day she graduated high school. The night after her graduation ceremony she came home, packed her bags, and snuck out of the house in her old truck with no plans on ever coming home. It was only natural that she run to Longport, knowing that she had people who knew and liked her there that she could rely on. Rather than staying with any of her family, she moved in with Katy. At first she just planned on sleeping on the couch until she could afford her own apartment, but then the arrangement became so comfortable that it turned into something a little more permanent.
Now she lives with Katy and her two dogs, but she's got a bed instead of a couch. She works full-time as a waitress at Ruby Tuesday (with Jonah), and saves all of the money she doesn't use to chip in on food and rent so that one day she can go to college. If her dreams go as planned she'll be in community college next fall, even if she is still trying to settle on a major. Privately she thinks her accent and good old fashioned southern hospitality earn her better tips! So what if the hospitality part is sometimes just imaginary?
Cristia is pretty adventurous and accepting in every situation. She usually dates girls, though she would date a guy if the feelings were there. She likes trying things that other people might consider crazy or dangerous, but she's also easily entertained. She's responsible and knows how to take care of herself and how to treat her friends, however she can act like a five year old sometimes. She's loud, silly, and occasionally might offend or irritate those around her, but she always has the best of intentions in mind. She might've been born and raised in Georgia, but she's lived in Longport for a couple years -- it's her home now.
